UT Progression Guide
Items are numbered in order of progression. The higher a number, the later relative stage in the game you would farm for those items. Those with a [†] are considered "swapouts", which are meant to only be used when needed and not as your main ability.
Bows
Blunderbow is comparable to a T8 or T9 bow, which makes it only viable for early game. [1]
Doom Bow has high damage and a high cooldown, but with a low velocity. Use tiered for piercing. [2]
Lightning Bow has a high velocity and fires many shots. However, it has slightly less DPS than Doom Bow. Use tiered for piercing. [2]
Bow of the Forest provides great DPS, and it also pierces. The two shots fired also provide a large range of damage. [3]
Ethereal longbow is a very good DPS bow for midgame. [3]
Amethyst Wormpiercer is good although its main damage is locked behind its chaging mechanic. [4]
Rapture is a pretty nice bow, with high DPS, great clearing capability, and great versatility. [4]
Oracle's End is the best damage bow until Judgement. [4]
Judgement has really good damage and decent range to go along with it. [5]
Traps
Arrowstorm trap is a good early game trap.[1]
Corvus Trap has a low cooldown with good damage, making it ideal for clearing and also single target DPS. [2]
Carl Trap has a large radius with tick damage. Although the DPS is high, actual DPS has to be obtained from a mob standing in the radius. This makes the trap less useful on single targets. [3]
Crystal Trap is great for single target DPS, but useless for clearing. [3]
Black Hole Singularity is the best trap in the game, as it paralyzes enemies and provides stat boosts in addition to high base DPS. However, players must be careful with paralysis, as it may cause shots to stack in some boss phases. [4]
Bombs
Krakatoa doesn't seem too useful but seems nicer than tiered bombs.[1]
Bombs of Torment is mainly used for its invulnerability ability. This ability allows you to recollect yourself while in the air, or boost yourself forwards. [2†]
Glacial bomb is a nice mobility option. [2†]
Voltaic Bomb has a very niche use, but it can be powerful when applied properly against a group of mobs, or a boss faster than your character. [3†]
Baphomet's Bomb is great for clearing with a high burst damage in a large area. It also can significantly propel the user in any direction if the player manipulates their direction. [3]
Hats
Hat of Lost Souls is the ideal centre drop to grind for, as it provides crucial early game damage. [1]
Void Hat is directed towards survivability, and is also great for evasion builds. [2†]
Umbrador Cap is going to be your next upgrade after Hat of Lost Souls, due to the fact that Void Hat doesn't provide any damage and/or defense. [2]
Persistent Masquerade is a direct upgrade of void hat, the main thing that makes it better is the ability.[3]
Helmet of the Shattered Sentinel lacks defense but provides a large amount of other survivability and damage stats. [3]
The Angelic Mandorla is a very good upgrade from Sentinel helmet as it provides A LOT more EHP and damage stats.[4]
Armour
Choji's Tunic is good for early game damage builds, as it has less defense than tiered armour, yet it provides attack instead of speed. [1]
Frozen Bearhide is a gilded chestplate but Choji's Tunic seems better in every way, but it gives no speed.[2]
Cursed Brigadine is an amazing swapout for survivability purposes. This is key in any build. [3†]
Spectral Armour is the next step in DPS armour, giving great attack stats and also other defensive stats. [3]
Reaper's Vest provides a significant amount of attack and crit, making it ideal for DPS builds. It provides little survivability value. [4]
Chaps
Lightning Chaps are great in any stage of the game for vitality purposes. [1†]
Corrupted Chaps provide health and some attack. They are your best option at this stage. [2]
Bloodstrider is heavily damage focused, but they provide speed as well. [3]
Sandals
Wartorn Sandals' ability is really good for mobility.[1†]
Spooky Sandals are a good set of defensive sandals, but fall short in any attack value. [2†]
Mechanical Fur Sandals have a great ability that scales with attack and crit. They also provide some attack, making them great damage boots. [2]
Black Hole Sandals are the best choice for raw damage stats. [2]
Nature's Gift is the best boots that provide a nice mix of damage and survivability stats.[3]
