Katanas
Kendo Stick provides beginner Samurais with easy access to T8 and T9 equivalent katana strength.[1]
Doom Katana shoots much slower than most katanas, but its high damage and availability makes it a great choice for early game.[2]
Icy grasp is an interesting pick between damage and range, but it does deal a bit less damage compared to Doom Katana. [2]
Carrot on a Stick is a great swapout for range, especially in phases like Onyx chase. [2†]
Soulrend Ravager is a more interesting katana with its range being negative, but it only means that the slash will chase after you from 6 range in front of you, however you might prefer it over blossom blade as it has higher dps.[3]
Blossom Blade has comparable DPS to Doom Katana, but it also has a piercing ability and a wider range of attack.[3]
Reikon is different in the aspect that it fires slashes, but that means that players can play using the velocity mechanic. It also is very good at damage and has very good range.[4†]
Valerion's Bane is way easier than use compared to Dawnbringer but it does slightly less damage, however its special does stun enemies for a bit.[4]
Dawnbringer is currently not for everyone, as the shot pattern makes it incredibly hard to use in most situations and the DPS rewards compared to Onyx Katana is not very desirable for what you give up to use it.[4]
Exodus is the best weapon for heavy classes, it's also considered to be the best unholy upgrade due to it's nice range and damage.[5]
Stars

Void Star is an excellent choice and should always be your main source of ability DPS.[3]
Kunais
Dwarven Kunai is mainly used as a swap-out for defense in case you get into a sticky situation.[1†]
Kunai of Conflict is going to be your main damage kunai until you get feathers. [2]
Crystal Kunai is a must have swap-out due how much vitality it gives and can even paralyze moving enemies.[2†]

Angelic Mandorla, the best helmet in the game compared to Crown its more generous especially with the speed it gives. [4]

Diver's Plating is pretty decent even for end game to min-max your DPS as it's one of the limited ways to increase critical damage. [1†]
Chestplate of Torment provides really good EHP and attack. [2]
Breastplate of New Life is the best chestplate for survivability as it provides a lot of hp and vitality.[3]
Wrathguard is the best chestplate damage wise, it also gives a bit more defense than breastplate of New Life. [4]
Greaves
Drayruk's Battle Greaves give decent speed, and attack which is good for heavy. But these leggings usually have less defense than tiered alternatives.[1]
Greaves of the Juggernaut is the best EHP leggings in the game, on top of that the ability giving 25/30 vitality for 5 seconds is quite generous making it an essential swap-out even in end game. [2†]
Greatwood Greaves provide quite a bit of vitality, health and attack. These leggings form a good middle ground for a piece which provides DPS and also EHP. [2]
