In Telos, loot is split into two categories; Tiered and Untiered. Tiered loot is always limited to specific stats and doesn't gain new stats by getting higher tiers; however, Untiered loot allows the player to mix & match armor pieces, weapons, and abilities to get their desired build. Untiered items have different stats and have the capability of having special abilities. Any tiered items drop from a bag, while any untiered item drops from a chest.

When opening bags containing tiered loot there will always be one piece of armour in that bag which is useable for your selected class.
Bags
Bags are loot drops which contain Tiered loot, which will always drop at least one usable item by the class that the player has selected. These bags require no damage threshold and can be dropped by any boss & mob if damaged (excluding Shadowlands). Bags are split into three types; tiered bags, rune bags, and companion bags. Tiered bags usually only drop tiered items, however if killing a boss which can drop a Forge Fragment, they appear as enchanted and drop the fragment in addition to tiered loot. Rune bags are rarer types of bags only found in +40 TP dungeons. which drop a special Rune, which is a way for the player to get extra stats. Companion bags are the rarest type of bag, and they can drop a special type of companion; either a pet or a mount.

Bags display as enchanted if they contain a Forge Fragment.
Chests
Chests are loot drops which contain Untiered loot or seasonal (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine) fragments. These are rarer loot drops that are only dropped from minibosses or bosses. They always drop at least one tiered item (excluding Shadowlands), an untiered item/seasonal fragment, as well as also having the chance to drop additional forge fragments, companions, and runes.

Soft Pity exists for each individual drop from a boss. The formula is undisclosed.
Pity
The pity system in Telos is a Soft Pity system, meaning the player will never have a 100% chance to get an item but the drop chance exponentially increases with every completion. The amount of increase is unknown, and the he entire formula for soft pity is undisclosed. Every loot type in the game has soft pity except for tiered and companion bags.

Soft Pity is a system that boosts item drop chance exponentially by the amount of completions of a boss you have. This chance will exponentially increase until hitting a 100% chance drop. Scaling for pity depending on runs is different for different types of loot (unholy requires more runs than gilded for example). Companions do not use the soft pity system.

Chests and some types of bags have a damage threshold which the player must reach before qualifying for the drop. Your pity for drops you don't qualify for will not increase when the boss is defeated.
(For example a item with a threshold of 0% requires you to do more damage than 0% of the bosses' health.)

Loot Data

Items serve to improve the player's combat capabilities, be it damage or survivability. Loot is obtained via Loot Bags or Chests from Dungeons and World Bosses.

The primary 4 types of loot are shown below:

Loot Types

In Telos, loot is split into two categories; Tiered and Untiered. Tiered loot is always limited to specific stats and doesn't gain new stats by getting higher tiers; however, Untiered loot allows the player to mix & match armor pieces, weapons, and abilities to get their desired build. Untiered items have different stats and have the capability of having special abilities. Any tiered items drop from a bag, while any untiered item drops from a chest.
